It has been a little while since I last blogged, almost a month! So many things have happened since then. In terms of education I have received an unconditional offer into “The University of Creative Arts” in Epsom for fashion journalism so I shall most probably be going there in September. I am so completely enthused by this news and am looking forward to a fresh start in September.
I also did some more landscape photography yesterday which can be found here. Again this is completely unedited except for where I have resized it. This set is called “Oh silhouette, reflect, reflect!!” and is a documentation of how beautiful everything has been looking lately, specifically looking at the sun in the late afternoon.
I am also attempting to save up for a Nikon D40, although I haven’t gotten very far with this. I have however had an offer to photograph a band called “Clocks” who are supporting “Scouting for Girls” at the Reading Hexagon in April. This would be such a fantastic opportunity to do some gig photography in the press area and see what it’s really like.
I have also written quite a few new articles which are all up to see here. “She’s a Barbie Girl”, “Genuine Since 1937” and “Get **ucked?!” were all written for my portfolio as examples of my written abilities for university interview while the “Pigeon Post” piece was set by “The University of Creative Arts” as an assignment to be completed and brought to interview. I must state that none of the images in these articles were taken by me and therefor I can only take credit for the written content within these articles. I am also deliberating putting my personal statement up.
Currently I am concentrating on my A-Level coursework which is proving quite difficult, I will have to try incredibly hard to have a repeat of the A grade I gained on my AS-Level piece. Alongside this I am in the process of writing three pieces for the “Vogue Talent Contest 2008” which I am finding quite difficult. I am having particular difficulty with the first piece of writing I am asked to do, my own autobiography.
I have also been having a lot of fun with my spare time recently as well. Having gotten back into contact with some old friends I have spent quite a lot of time with them and have further plans to see “Saxon Sunday” this Saturday which I am really looking forward to. I have also made a new friend called Sophie through Myspace and her visits to my work; we are going out this Friday for food and some drinks which should be fun times.

In the next few weeks I also have plans to go to quite a few gigs with Charlie which I am really excited about. We recently saw “Johnny Flynn and the Sussex Wit” at “Southampton Hamptons” and they were just amazing, I was completely blown away by how empowering and atmospheric their music is live. This is the second time I have seen them, the first time they were a support act and I didn’t know any of their music. They are one of the bands and will be seeing in the next few weeks, again as a support act but this time for “Laura Marling” at Union Chapel which should be a fantastic gig! I also have tickets to see “Jack Penate”, “Kid Harpoon” and “The Metros” which should all be great as well as whoever plays “Camden Crawl” as the bands have not yet been announced.
Catch up soon,
Kitty x
