With the release of their first album late last year Noah and the Whale hit the mainstream as geeky indie folk types who write melancholic songs perfect for broken hearted listening. Less than a year later the band are to release their second album First Days of Spring. The release of this albums also marks the release of the film of the same title directed by Noah and the Whale which will be available to buy as an album and film bundle from all good record stores. The sound of the new album builds on the debut, moving to a richer more atmospheric offering. The trailer for the 45 minute film is below, showing a brief snippet of what looks like a beautiful and moving piece of cinema.

To celebrate the release of both the film and album The First Days of Spring, the band will be playing at a free show at Pure Groove Record Store, London on August 24th with a full string section.
